Johann Heinrich Vogeler: Reverie

“People who believe
they are
ignorant of nothing
have neither looked for,
nor stumbled upon,
the boundary between
what is known
and unknown
in the universe.”

– Neil deGrasse Tyson,

It’s a wonderful quote and the painting is stunning. It’s exciting the discoveries humankind is making in science about our world and the universe, but it’s comforting to know that there will always be mysteries kept from us for now. Perhaps it’s those mysteries that the woman in the picture is contemplating. 😀

    1. Thank you for sharing your insights, ellem. I agree about the mysteries of life, and sitting at the ocean looks like a great place to ponder these things. Have a great weekend! 🙂

  4. What better place to contemplate the mysteries of the Universe than the seashore where land, water, and the heavens meet!
