  1. What can be more magnificent than Bach’s Goldberg Variations? Fazil Say’s interpretation is the essence of simplicity. His sensitivity is so overwhelming and yet so understated. One of the most unusual dance interpretations is by modern dancer Steve Paxton who improvises on a Glenn Gould’s recording of Goldberg Variations. Many years ago I saw Paxton performing his interpretation in Amsterdam; a compelling performance.
