Recently, I found an insect I’d never seen; its colors included that combination of rich blue and green found on the right side of the painting. Here’s an online photo of the insect: a cuckoo wasp. Odd, the associations we make.
I don’t love waterfalls the way many people do — they are a little “too much” for me. But I love this painting, which captures the overwhelming nature of a waterfall in a full stop… where I can enjoy it more peacefully!
