I am soaking up such views here on a short lakeside holiday. The colors of the water are hard to paint. They shift constantly. Thank you for posting this, i will put it in my master studies queue.
Beautiful painting! And so many times you hear Chopin only by piano. I really loved the Hauser rendition of this haunting melody. It is awesome. So soothing . . . Thanks for the lovely post. It is a great way to begin my week!
Because the subject in “Midsummer’s Eve” is viewed largely from behind, it reminded me of Caspar David Friedrich’s 1818 painting “Wanderer Above the Sea of Fog.”

Wearing a cape on Midsummer’s Eve? That stopped me — until I saw that the painter was Danish. Midsummer in Denmark would be a touch cooler.

It sure is NOT cape weather here…lol.

Yes! I think that one is scheduled here for August 5. A similar Friedrich painting is here: https://atsunnyside.blog/2022/02/07/louise-farrenc-music-for-violin-and-piano/

What pathos in the tilt of her head…

Yes – perfect word for her body language here. Hmmm…I bet we could imagine a good story to account for her pathos, too. 🙂
