Sometimes it’s the tiny detail that creates a sense of connection with a painting. I remember wearing those same pulled-thread headscarves; mine were made by my grandmother, but she and her eastern European friends wore them, too. I can remember them sitting on her porch and pulling threads to create the fringe.
What a wonderful memory of your grandmother, Linda! I can picture you on the porch with her pulling threads, which makes me smile because it reminds me of my own beloved grandmothers and their front porches. Oh, how I miss them! ❤️
