When Schiff walked into that gorgeous room in the opening, I was wondering how the architecture would affect the acoustics. His footsteps created a faint echo. But it didn’t seem to be an issue.
I was more fascinated with his surroundings—so often, libraries are dark, “closed in” places. But this one is open and airy, with lots of sunlight.
I noticed that the bookshelves had no backs, which enabled light to pass through from the windows on the outside walls.
Am wondering who the genius architect was who designed such a beautiful place.
