  2. Thanks for your introduction to Edmond Aman-Jean. While many people know and enjoy the Impressionists, I get the impression that many fewer know about Symbolism, which was a movement in literature as well as in the visual arts.

    Also delightful was the musical piece that accompanies the YouTube video of Aman-Jean’s paintings that you linked to. I see it’s “Dimanches nostalgie” by French-Canadian composer André Gagnon, who died less than two years ago:
