Claude Debussy Préludes, Premier Livre, L. 117: No. 8, La fille aux cheveux de lin Transcr. for Violin and Piano by A. Hartmann, Alessandro Clerici, violin , Elena Brunello, piano
I tend to live in silence, so the pieces you send are often the only noise I hear in the morning. This piece especially pulled me into it and deeper into silence. Very moving.
I decided to crop the image – was afraid of ending up with only a big naked bottom on my homepage image, which I can’t control before publishing. lol I do love the whole painting, though. Thanks for the link, Steve. 🙂
Beautiful performance! I’m used to hearing this piece on the piano and with a different tempo. This one is so so beautiful, Sunnyside. The violin sounds almost like talking or crying at times. It gave me the chills at the end. Thank you!!
This piece is so beautiful, the violin sound so deep and full. Thank you for sharing.

I looked up the full painting:

I wonder if Debussy had a particular flaxen-haired girl in mind.

The violin made me think of a sad and lonely siren song. Thanks for sharing your thoughts, Olga. It gives me chills, too.

The Gold Fish is so radiant! I loved the pianist’s frees and the violinist’s polka dot shirt…and of course the tone and tempo of Debussy piece.
