LUDWIG VAN BEETHOVEN String Quartet No. 13, Op. 130, V. Cavatina: Adagio molto espressivo, Performance by: Bård Monsen, violin Bjarne Magnus Jensen, violin Hanne Skjelbred, viola Torun Stavseng, cello
Thank you for your post. I find Boccioni’s work, especially his awesome futuristic oeuvre fascinating. His ‘Unique Forms of Continuity in Space’ remains one of my favourite pieces. Just wanted to add that this wonderful Beethoven String Quartet was used by the Dutch choreographer Hans van Manen in his magnificently daring ballet Grosse Fuge. It was created in 1984 and is to this very day, as innovative as the day of its premier.
Sorry for the delay in my reply, Anita. I just found your very kind comment in spam. (sigh….) Thanks so much for visiting, and I am pleased your enjoyed the music. 🙂
The more I listen to Beethoven the more I love his music. I kind of liked his music before, but it’s very recently that I’ve become fond of his music in a special way, such as never before. His adagios are something out of this world. And this one’s been a beautiful discovery for me. Thank you! 🙂 Interesting painting.

The Cavatina is such a melodic Beethoven piece. I wasn’t familiar with it so I’m glad you featured it.

MUSIC
Northern Elm in Sept of 2022
following a loud thunder
the stars begin to gather before
they set off like a storm
lightning –
the conducting hand
gives the islands the refuge
the arms of the guy who’s
still swimming outside the windshield
are the wipers scraping
the vast formed water
is an open chest –
a transparent deck of the
survived vessel – the new horizon
