  1. To this, one of Tchaikovsky’s most glorious compositions, George Balanchine created ‘Serenade’ for what would become the New York City Ballet. It was Balanchine’s first choreography for American dancers. Serenade, choreographed in 1933/4 is, one of the most mesmerizing, not mention dramatic, ballets ever made. There are many excerpts on internet and a complete version filmed in 1973. Thank you for sharing this wonderful music, that handsome fellow by Repin (love the artist) and allowing me to share Balanchine’s masterpiece.

    1. Thanks so much, Yvonne, for pointing me toward the ballet. I have spent an enjoyable morning watching clips on youtube. My favorite so far is the 1973 version (https://youtu.be/2LSs-ZiiPGo
