‘Corrida’ is one of the finest of a series of pastels on the theme of the bullfight that Pablo Picasso created in Barcelona in the summer of 1900. This dazzlingly colored work captures the drama of the corrida, as well as the intense heat of the Spanish summer.

Unlike Picasso, I am not a fan of bullfighting (vast understatement here), but I do love pastels. Just look at those colors!

    1. Nothing prepared me for the dust – how do you contain the mess? It hasn’t curtailed my enthusiasm yet, but I am thinking pan pastels might be a littler easier to contain…lol 🙂
