Nikolai Medtner: Canzona Serenata op. 38 Nr. 6, played by Alexander Malofeev, Klavier, hr-Sinfoniekonzert ∙ Alte Oper Frankfurt, 15. September 2022
The cliffs remind me of where I live here in Nova Scotia. The New Minas area to be exact (on the Bay of Fundy side.) Nova Scotia claims the highest tides in the world and they are really quite spectacular. After being here 18 years, I am still in awe of them. Fortunately, I live only a couple of rural blocks from the ocean. My partner and I spend many summer afternoons having a picnic lunch on the shore just minutes from our home here. We take long walks at Mavilette beach, too, when the tide is low. Even when it is not, it is fun to walk up closer to the rocks and watch how quickly it comes in. It is wonderful to take the time to enjoy it. For years, we did not. But one good thing about COVID (if you could find something) is that it helped us appreciate our own surroundings. 🙂
How wonderful to be surrounded by such beauty! Your home in Nova Scotia sounds like a dream, Sheila. Thanks for sharing your thoughts – I will think of your comment every time I see paintings similar to this one. Have a wonderful day! 😎❤️
