Slightly (?) romanticized, but lovely. I should look so good at the end of the workday.

  5. What a perfect name for the girl in the painting. Even the colors are somewhat muted and washed out, conveying a sense if being tired. (Can colors be ‘tired’? I think they can. 😉 ) Thank you for a thoughtful painting to begin my day with. Have a good one.

    1. I do think colors can be tired. My first impression was that she blends into the background almost becoming part of the field. I wonder what she is thinking? Can she even imagine a different life? (yes, I have to believe her spirit is not broken….) Thanks for sharing your thoughts this morning, Sheila. 🙂🌺

She’s connected to nature. It’s cloudy so it’s not contrasty and they didn’t have bright colored clothes for field work if they had any bright colors at all.

  9. So now I find myself waiting for posts, like John Le Farge, his Newport stained glass… 🤭

    1. I only have one John La Farge drawing so far (https://atsunnyside.blog/2022/02/20/chopins-nocturnes-too-beautiful-for-words/). I am adding his stained glass to my research list. Thanks, Richard. 🙂
