Unbroken

In the spring
When I was young,
green and giving,
I wondered if we
would see autumn.
Then the water rose
while cold wind whipped,
And I wondered
which one of us would
blow away.
I remain
unbroken -
And now I know.

Thanks to shoreacres (Linda at The Task at Hand blog) who introduced me to a fascinating article, Georgia O’Keeffe’s Blindness: An Interview with Carol Merrill, about Georgia O’Keeffe’s struggle with macular degeneration in her later years.

Thanks for Visiting 🌻

Everything about this post is wonderful, painting, poem & music, except for one thing: the shiny gray suit of the oboist! 😉💓🤗🙋‍♂️

I was so taken with your evocative poem, I paid no attention to the rest of the post. Now I’ve gone back, and agree: the oboist needs to lose that suit!
