Upon viewing Alfred Munnings Reading, it occurred to me that when artists choose human subjects to paint, they more frequently choose females as their subjects. Exception is paintings of royalty, prominent politicians and the wealthy.
Am I correct in that observation, or is my lack of formal schooling in the fine arts just too limited to make that statement?

I have wondered the same thing, Dee. Perhaps my personal taste gets in the way of appreciating more male portraits, since I tend to gravitate toward color and light. Interesting question!
