Lyrics

Imagine there's no heaven
It's easy if you try
No hell below us
Above us only sky
Imagine all the people living for today
Imagine there's no countries
It isn't hard to do
Nothing to kill or die for
And no religion too
Imagine all the people living life in peace, you
You may say I'm a dreamer
But I'm not the only one
I hope some day you'll join us
And the world will be as one
Imagine no possessions
I wonder if you can
No need for greed or hunger
A brotherhood of man
Imagine all the people sharing all the world, you
You may say I'm a dreamer
But I'm not the only one
I hope some day you'll join us
And the world will be as one

  1. It’s a lovely melody. As for the words, some seem to conflict with your beliefs (at least as I infer them from what you say of your background). If there is indeed a conflict, have you attempted to reconcile the positions, or are you content to let the differences be?

    1. Nah…my beliefs are unchanged, and there is no world in which I can imagine no heaven and no hell. I decided to concentrate on the message in the last line and that beautiful voice. Thanks for sharing your thoughts, Steve. 🌻

Beautiful choice…Eva Cassidy truly was naturally gifted as a singer and guitarist. She sang with so much emotion which could be powerful and yet there was a delicateness to her voice. Somewhere Over the Rainbow is heartbreaking beautiful and soulful as well as Fields of Gold.
