OK. The time has come.
After decades of planning to take art lessons, I finally enrolled in The Virtual Instructor with Matt Fussell. Inspired by Judith at Artistcoveries, I am determined to embrace – and learn – from every mistake, even though being a brand new beginner is intimidating to this recovering perfectionist.
Today, at the end of Week 1, I worked on this free lesson:
Join me on this new adventure – and feel free to post links to your own art work or recommended resources. Let’s be brave together. 🙂

Looks like fun. I consider what I do ‘painting with words.’ Prior to 2010, my hands blazed so fast across the keys, I used to say they were dancing on the keyboard. But my hands were slowly becoming crippled and, believe it or not, my hands had become so much part of the keys, I had a very hard time convincing myself my hands did not have a mind of their own.
I gave up writing for 6 years until I was finally able to convince myself my mind was the culprit behind those words on the screen. In 2016, I emerged into cyberspace to write. ow I do much more.
The avocados are lovely and simple and serene. Thank you for weaving them into my day.

That’s a great start! Very classical drawing and I think this aproach is the best for starting a career as long-term artist 🙂
