Week 20: After Rubens, by Sunnyside

After Rubens, graphite and charcoal on toned paper, May 11, 2022

Hmmm…I need to try this one again — much to learn here. Since I did not have time to tone my paper with watercolor as he suggested, I tried using tinted charcoal on tan sketching paper for the background. I never could tell whether we were supposed to be using graphite or charcoal on the drawing, so I will pay better attention next time.

Thanks for Visiting 🙂

I like the face on yours rather more than the original. It seems more human, and more interesting.

    1. I can see how that might be unavoidable for an artist. Thanks for sharing your thoughts, Zettl. 🙂
