Forgive my intrusion about the question above. The normal position for a violinist to play is standing. As far as I’m concerned in quartets and so on. I mean when they play pieces for a small number of instruments. It may also be sitting for sure. In a symphonic piece, for example, violinists sit because it would not look very orderly among the others musicians. But if there is a soloist, like in a concerto for a violin, then the musician stands, though I have seen them sitting too, but it`’s not the usual thing. Cellists, obviously need to be sitting either way 😀… Anyway, I also wanted to contribute with my own appreciation, which is that I so much like this piece ever since I first heard it. That was a while ago. You always bring me good memories with your selection of music. Thank you!
Thank you, brushorpencil! I love this piece, also. Seeing the musicians in live recordings always helps me appreciate the music more, and I do enjoy the energetic movements of each individual musician while standing.❤️🙂
