Why Horses?
Brasilier says….
“Horses are a superb creation. They’re charged with symbolism, strength, dynamism, beauty. They’re a source of inspiration.”
“Horses are always found in a beautiful environment, at the heart of nature, they’re indistinguishable from nature. What I’m interested in is the quest for beauty.”
“Whenever I see a horse I’m inspired. The horse gives me an energy…”

Hi, Sunnyside!
I’ve discovered your blog a few days ago and was very happy about it. I’m so fascinated with the painting on your profile picture (yes, I’ve checked the “who am I” page and it was a very pleasant, so familiar read). I had wanted to comment later I so pleased with this coincidence. Andre Brasilier seems to be a rare find which I discovered a few years ago. I also like his horses but strangely I enjoy his women with flowers even more. They probably deserve more attention than people think.
Women and their flowers exist in a communion with each other in his paintings and the flowers sparkle and the sparkles dance like dragonflies in a sunny shallow mist upon the water like it’s a fountain of tenderness and femininity; and it all brings you… home, as if stranger’s heart becomes your home. In some paintings they hold their palms as if the flowers are the fire and palms caress in their light with a little fear of being too intrusive.
Now I’d like to share with you a song that I listened to while marveling at some of these paintings:
For example this painting, Expo 83 – Monte Carlo

Or this one, Les Roses de l’Etang

Thank you so much for being a believer! May God bless you and your family!
I’m from a Russian Orthodox Church.
With love, Alexander (or as we say here more familiarly and sentimentally, Sásha)
P.S. Sorry if my description is too pretentious! I tried to stay true to the feeling.
