I have wondered why the women in Marie Berrio’s works are always solemn. In this one I think smiles might have seemed trite, while the sombre expressions convey resolve and resilience, perhaps the most important foundations for having hope. She does make me pause and ponder. Thanks for sharing your thoughts, Patti. 🙂🌺
