A totally new name to me. I’d love to see more of her work. Her? Is Hermen a female name? Catalan? I’ve never seen it. I’ll soon be in Barcelona for several months. Must see if my Catalan relatives know of this artist.

Yes, Catalan, but I will defer to your expertise on gender 😉 Have a wonderful trip, JMN, and enjoy every moment of your travels!

Oh, forgot to say – I have also seen the name written as one word, ‘Hermenanglada’ with various spellings.

I wonder why the horse’s head is hidden. I think that’s his neck behind her shoulder. He’s a well dressed horse and she’s well dressed too but his neck is arched down. At first I thought his neck was the lady holding a fan. There might be a story there.

There is something head-like under all that regalia, but I would love to see the horse’s head. I wish I knew more about the culture. Could be some kind of traditional festival (?)
